About Wind Energy Alaska

Wind Energy Alaska is an Alaska company dedicated to developing and operating commercial-scale wind energy projects along the state’s Railbelt-energy grid and in other areas of Alaska. It is a 50-50-owned subsidiary of CIRI and enXco, Inc.
 
CIRI is one of the 12 Alaska-based regional corporations established by the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971 to benefit Alaska Natives who had ties to the Cook Inlet region. The company is owned by more than 7,400 Alaska Natives shareholders of Athabascan and Southeast Indian, Inupiat and Yup’ik Eskimo, Alutiiq and Aleut descent. CIRI’s headquarters are in Anchorage, AK and its principal business interests include Alaska tourism and lower-48 destination resorts, oilfield and construction services, real estate and resource development, telecommunications and government contracting.
 
enXco, inc. is an EDF-EN Company that develops, operates and manages wind-energy projects across the United States. The company started business in 1987. It develops and owns a variety of wind-energy installations and is the largest third-party wind park operation and maintenance provider in the country, currently servicing more than 3,600 turbines (1,500 megawatts).
 
EDF Energies Nouvelles is a 50-percent owned affiliate of the EDF Group that specializes in renewable power generation, especially wind power. It has operations in the United States and the European Union, including France, Portugal, Italy, Greece and the United Kingdom.
